GIS and Transport Management von Bachir Amadou Gaya

This work is devoted to the study of the contribution of GIS to the management of student transport at the Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey. The study is based on the use of GIS and the analysis of the student transport system. The use of GIS has allowed, from the field data and the image of the city of Niamey from the Quick Bird 2012 satellite, to produce the land use maps that were used in the study to understand how the issue of student transport is raised at the scale of the city of Niamey. This student transport is carried out on routes punctuated by bus stops, where large numbers of students use buses, the number of which is largely insufficient. This work also made it possible to make a cartographic analysis of the observed facts and the information collected. The results of this study should help to identify a suitable mechanism not only to manage, but also to prevent possible problems related to the issue of student transport.
