UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Implementation in Nigeria von Abdullahi Umar

This book discusses the extent to which implementation of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and related instruments (Kyoto Protocol, Bali Roadmap, Copenhagen Accord, Paris Agreement etc) helped deliver environmental benefits (ameliorating environmental degradation), alleviate poverty, increase participation and improve human well-being in Nigeria. The objective is to explore the institutional, policy and technical arrangements in the implementation of UNFCCC and related instrument with the view of making an appraisal on their success stories in environmental management and the constraints that militate speedy attainment of sustainable development that the treaty and it allied instruments were set to achieve.

Dr. Abdullahi Umar, Geography Lecturer, and Visiting Lecturer of Environmental Management at Federal University, Birnin Kebbi and Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria. His areas of research interest include climate change adaptation, sustainable livelihoods and water resources management.
